Liu Baoqing, also known as Cao Shan, is a renowned Chinese calligrapher born in 1951 in Jieyang, Guangdong Province. He currently serves as the secretary-general of the Guilin City Calligraphy Association and a high-level painter at the Guangxi Minority Art Institute.

His works have been widely exhibited and recognized both domestically and internationally. They include participation in events such as the "International Calligraphy Exhibition" hosted by Henan Provincial Calligraphy Association, "International Invitational Calligraphy Exhibition" organized by Singapore Calligraphy Association, "National Second Exposition of Carving Art" sponsored by China Artists' Association, and numerous international carving art exhibitions co-organized by various countries' organizations.

Apart from his artistic achievements, Liu Baoqing has received numerous awards for his contributions to cultural exchanges. He was awarded the Philippine International Cultural Exchange Elite Award for his outstanding work in promoting cultural exchange between nations.

Liu Baoqing's artistic creations are not only highly regarded within professional circles but also cherished outside them. His works can be found displayed prominently throughout China's historical sites and museums. A devoted advocate for global artistic collaboration, Liu Baoqing actively participates in academic exchanges worldwide. In 1994 he embarked on an academic visit to Singapore where he shared ideas with fellow artists from around the world to promote mutual understanding among diverse cultures.
